Vacancies with accommodation provided abroad

Working abroad can really be a life changing experience, and one that could set you on a whole different career path. Working overseas gives you the chance to experience life in another country, immerse yourself in a foreign culture, learn language skills, gain international work experience, meet new people and, hopefully, have a fantastic time while doing so.

However there's no denying that working abroad also requires a lot of organisation. There are visas to sort out, travel injections to plan, your stuff to pack, flights to book, savings needed, foreign bank accounts to arrange, tax umbers to apply for, travel insurance and, of course, you'll need to find somewhere to live.

This can be difficult, especially if you're not fluent in the local language, or if you don't want to commit to a full 12 month lease. It can also be hugely expensive, especially if you'll be living in a major city or a destination that's popular with holiday makers. That's why vacancies with accommodation provided abroad are so desirable.

You might be surprised to learn that there are a fairly plentiful supply of jobs abroad that offer free accommodation as part of the contract, or at least a heavily subsidised rate. Hotel jobs commonly offer staff rooms, as they understand that tourist prices for accommodation are just too expensive for their staff. Bar jobs also commonly offer small flats or rooms above the bar - which can get pretty noisy. Finally, schools with a large number of language assistants may also have staff blocks.
