Take a look at TEFL jobs abroad

As with any kind of travelling, how much money you have basically determines how much fun you'll have on your backpacking trip. And this is why backpacker jobs are especially important when you're far from home. If you need to get the cash flowing, try TEFL jobs abroad while you're travelling.

Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) is one of the most common backpacker jobs available, especially in countries that have very few English-speaking people. Countries where TEFL teachers are currently in demand include China, South Korea and Japan. South East Asia, including Thailand and Vietnam, also have a growing demand for TEFL teachers.

Forget about language barriers; this backpacker job won't require you to have English as your first language (although you'll find work easier if it is), nor expect you to speak the local language of the country you're in, for you'll surely be exposed to and familiarise yourself with the language once you're there.

Although a background in teaching is not required, it's better if you have a TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate for better credibility. You can also get certification from short online courses. However, make sure that the course provider is properly accredited before signing up to study.

Teaching English may not earn you much as compared with other backpacker jobs, but this stint can extend your travels infinitely. As they say, “if you speak English, you can pretty much travel forever.”
