Join us as we take a look at potential security in Surrey careers

With the security industry being one of the few sectors around today that continues to go from strength to strength in the face of the ongoing global economic crisis, it should come as no surprise to anyone to learn that the level of interest in security careers has sky rocketed in the past few years.

Before you decide to jump feet first into your search for security in Surrey careers though, there are a few things that you should keep in mind. To begin with, if you plan on working as a front line security operative, that is to say being one of the officers on location (for example security in a shopping centre or driving an armoured bank van, for example) you're going to need an SIA license.

These licenses, issued by the Security Industry Authority, are required by law for certain positions, and they ensure potential employers that the security officer in question is fit and able to carry out his duties after passing the stringent course in order to qualify. Even if you are only thinking about a career in security, having an SIA license is definitely something that we recommend since it opens you up to a number of potential career moves.

The other thing you should know is that positions working in the security industry aren't simply limited to front line operatives. There are plenty of other roles for people skilled in computers, network infrastructure, driving, administration and clerical positions. The wages on offer for these positions will vary depending on the seniority of the role in question.

There are a number of excellent security companies in the Surrey area that you should check out with a view to potential employment. In particular, we recommend getting in touch with Surrey Security (10 Beaufort Close, Woking), Unisto (Postford Mill, Chilworth) and Heston Apex (Burden Way, Guildford).
