Interested in primary education courses at University?

Anyone who has read the newspapers or listened to the radio in the past few years will know that there is a real dearth of quality primary level teachers in the United Kingdom these days. With fewer people than ever going into the teaching profession, this is obviously a concern for anyone with young children or who is starting on planning a familiy in the near future.

For those of you who are interested in taking primary education courses at University, we have taken a look at some of the highest rated and most popular courses available right now in the UK.

The University of Northampton offers a BA (Hons) in Primary Education (QTS) which won Ofsted's Oustanding ranking for 2009 and 2010. This seal of approval is based on the quality of the teachers who graduate from the course, as well as the high level of education received by all who attend. The course runs for three years full time and is located at the University's Park Campus. To qualify you must have a GCSE grade C or higher in English, Maths and Science. For more information you can check out northampton.ac.uk.

Alternatively, the University of Hertfordshire offers a similar three year course at its de Havilland campus. To qualify to study for this course, you will need 300 points which includes a National Curriculum subject, as well as grade C or above in GCSE maths, English and science. You can check out more on that particular course over at herts.ac.uk.
