Looking for legal work experience placements?

If you're in the process of studying law then you'll no doubt be aware of just how important real life experience with the legal system can be. This is why so many different colleges place a wealth of emphasis on getting yourself out there in different legal work experience placements over the course of your studies. You're not expected to nab a place on a big name law firm or anything like that, but you should, at the very least, be surrounding yourself with the British legal system in whatever way you possible can.

Fortunately, things are made a lot easier thanks to the fact that an ever increasing number of law firms hold open days for students and prospective employees, offering them the chance to sign up for unpaid internships and summertime work experience at their offices. The numbers of places available for these positions tends to be quite limited, but if you are lucky enough to be accepted you will not only learn a huge amount about the legal system, but also make a huge number of potentially valuable contacts which could stand to you in your future career.

If you are interested in being a judge or a barrister, HM Courts Service offers a five day "shadowing" service, where you will get to take in everything that the judge does over the course of a working week. You can find out more information about that particular scheme by checking out the official HM Courts service website at hmcourts-service.gov.uk today.
