If you think that you might be suited for a job with Google, then it's very important that you prepare yourself for what is sure to be one of the most tough and intense hiring experiences of your life. You may already have heard about the Google recruitment process in the UK, but if you haven't read on so that there are no nasty surprises.

Despite being one of the biggest companies in the world, the Google recruitment process for the UK is one that is often shrouded in mystery and rumour. Anyone who knows someone who has applied for a job with the internet behemoth will no doubt have heard the tales of multiple telephone interviews, vigorous background checks and then even more interviews in person.

Those of you who have never been through this kind of detailed recruitment procedures before may find the whole thing a little daunting, but when it's broken down into its basic components, there's little to be worried about, particularly if you really do feel that you're the right person for the job.

As Google is a highly technical company, its hiring process is based around finding the best and the brightest minds for each particular vacancy available. Whether or not that's a technical position doesn't seem to matter, the process will be much the same.

Once you have successfully gotten past the phone interview of the Google recruitment process for the UK, you can look forward to at least a couple of in person interviews. Depending on the kind of job you're applying for, these could be group based interviews to gauge how you work with others, including plenty of American style role playing activities, and seemingly unrelated tasks to gauge how well you can adapt to new situations.

It may seem alien at first, but it's worth remembering that everything is done for a reason, regardless of how outlandish you consider the process to be.

Those who aren't expecting this unique interview process can often be caught out, finding themselves unable to properly give a good account of themselves and their skills due to the unexpected nature of the process. By knowing in advance what's likely to crop up, you can at least prepare yourself mentally for the challenges that lie ahead, and ultimately land yourself a job at one of the most illustrious companies in the world.
