Spread your wings with a Beauty Therapist job

Beauty therapists have amazing job satisfaction and surveys carried out show beauty therapists to be very happy in their work. It probably has a lot to do with the feel-good factor which comes from enhancing a person's appearance and making them feel more attractive.

Many colleges in the UK have beauty therapist training courses leading to different qualifications. The CIDESCO diploma is widely regarded as the most prestigious qualification to have, taking anywhere up to three years to achieve. The Comite International D'Esthetique De Cosmetologie (CIDESCO) was established in 1949 to advance the professional competency and value of beauty therapists, as well as to create a solid relationship between the therapists and other practitioners in closely related fields. According to the CIDESCO website, "The CIDESCO diploma is the world's most prestigious qualification in the field of aesthetics and Beauty therapy. There are over 160 CIDESCO schools around the world teaching to the internationally acclaimed CIDESCO standards".

The International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) offers qualifications in beauty therapy that are recognized worldwide.

The Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology(CIBTAC) have a distinguished reputation, only granting accreditation to schools that meet all of its requirements.

Armed with one of these qualifications the world is the beauty therapist's oyster. If working in one's own home country does not hold much appeal, there are opportunities to work on cruise ships or in some of the top class resorts anywhere in Europe.

A beauty therapist occupation is certainly a passport to success.
